I just ordered some of those for ErstDist, curious to hear it.

the Wandelweiser site isn't updated, is that the only 2008 release so far?

Mats Gustafsson, Paul Lovens...Nothing to Read.

I haven't heard this in a long time.

Did you listen to CD2?

The CD1 is great, but I didn't like CD2 very much.

I didn't listen to it all the way through... not as strong as the 1st version that's for sure.

live recording by the Dresden Dolls from early 2004

- their special pretentiousness aside, they often had quite a creative spark to their live shows plus the potential to become quite a good band back then, but they really lost that during the subsequent years. Having broken up recently (until further notice) looks like a consequent step.

I'm listening to the recordings on his Myspace as well, it reminds me a little of the Akiyama / Ng, "Oimacta", that came out a while ago on IMJ. Good stuff.

part 1 of disc 2 is strong, although way outside the wandelweiser sound. more like kick-ass acid drone than anything else.

i was disappointed to read the score/instructions though. i'm not a musician, but they come out very algorithmic to me and rather spoil the experience.

Yes. About once per year I feel the urge to listen to "Selling Jesus", which I think is a great song.

Saw Cecil Taylor live at Grace Cathedral with Gerardo.

New disks:

Image
Dean Roberts - Black Moths Play the Grand Cinema First listen: I love this one, great stuff.

Image Found this on LP after years of looking and hype, kind of disappointing, not bad but not mind-blowingly great - Sounds like a mediocre early 60s Coltrane session.

Image For my son, listened to this twice this weekend.

Image

Image Took me years to find this LP, which has the same feel as the earlier African Marketplace, pure township vibe. I listened to African Marketplace in Guinea on a cassette more than any recording I had in the Peace Corps.

Old disks:
