Khanate split up so no chance at that, but what about a Stephen O'Malley/Peter Rehberg collaboration? Their album comes out soon (or is already out), I think they'd be a pretty great fit. Maybe you can evenget Drumm into the mix!

And regarding Borbeto, I think they were last-minute replacements in both 05 and 06 (for Sunn O))) and Masonna respectively IIRC) but I just have a soft spot for them I guess. No such thing as too much of a good thing in their case.

i agree. every nff should leave one slot open for borbeto on the main stage. everyone should have a chance at seeing them live at least once in their life.

Well Plotkin posted something on his website about quitting Khanate because other members lacked dedication to the project, or something of that sort...and a couple of days later O'Malley posted on his site that the band had split up for good. That's about all I heard. They've still got a new record coming out though, just no active band to actually support it or anything.

Apparently Henri Chopin is confirmed for the 2007 Suoni per il Popolo festival in Montreal, which takes place during the month of June. Don't know the specific date but if you're going to be in or around town around then it'll be worth checking out for sure.

these would all be seriously beyond amazing(especially thuja/mirror, that would make my life) but would probably piss off the harshheads too much. but really....make this happen

Seen Mirror live before and it's indeed impressive. But Heemann is focussing on solo recordings and the side-project In Camera these days.

Thuja live is KILLER.. totally not that quiet.. I dunno if the hashies would "get it," but basically they're a naturalistic Neubauten.. last few times I've seen em, they've been really, really fucking good AND pretty damn loud....

I'm still pulling for Dead C tho... or maybe some other NZ fiends..... Birchville's always good.. and I bet he'd do something nuts.. when we collabed with him in Wellington, he cut the shit out of his face.. that'd go over well..................
