marcus - currently playing guitar in the undercurrents, drums for the dialtones, and guitar for minisnap (who are 3/4's of the bats)

nick - attempting to settle on a solo alias ('lyttletontronics' and a couple others have been used), and has done a couple shows with roy montgomery as the torlesse supergroup

helen - in the process of putting together a solo album, has also performed with nick as a keyboard/electronic duo

Okay, after 10 pages of this I think we need a "100 Favorite Songs" thread.

who is 'birdsong of detroit'?

you've got a good list of kiwi stuff there, though im not a big fan of 'a handful of dusts' material (just a bit caustic for me...)

love scorched earth policy though, i wanna put together a compilation that tracks the history of those bands, from the vacuum blue ladder through bill direen, peter stapleton, stephen cogle, mick elborado, brian crook and roy montgomery's material in bands like the bilders, drowning is easy, max block, pin group, SEP, minus two, victor dimisich, the shallow, plus then the connections to plagal grind, the terminals, rain, sleep, flies inside the sun, dissolve, space dust, dadamah, the renderers, roy montgomery and bible black...

a history of the _real_ dunedin/christchurch underground

im an aucklander who stumbled upon the IHM room on slsk and by extension ended up here. i think i saw you on the foxydigitalis forum actually, which i posted on twice before i totally forgot about it (as im prone to do).

that handful of dust album listed is just their most recent one, probably the easiest to swallow as they ease off the scrape a bit. if you ever feel like giving them another listen it might be the one to go for.

i'd be interested to see what nz stuff youre sharing if youre on slsk too, my username on there is the same as here.

If either of you guys have any information you'd care to share about the AUS/NZ electronic/improv/electro-acoustic elements and what you've heard, please pm me (kind of a project), thanks. Or post it here of course.

what do you want to know? i take it you know about all thge standard guys.. a lot of whom are oversea's based these days...

in christchurch there's this old gaurd of bruce russell and greg malcolm who seem to overlook the entire scene, though the likes of the audible 3, roy montgomery and the barnard's star guys pop up here and there with different projects.

the audio foundation site [ http://www.audiofoundation.org.nz" onclick= "window.open(this.href);return false; ] is a good resource for info, upcoming events and contact details for nz artists...

Eh. I was revelling in unabashed honesty there. I swear I'm more wikked underground than that list suggests. 8)
