The little squiggle is called a sedilla. Is there a name for the character comprised of the C with the sedilla? I feel like there is, but my research has been fruitless.

I've never heard a term for "ç," just the squiggle itself.

In french class we would always just say "C avec cédille," "E avec accent aigu/grave," etc.

i tried to research this too (slow day at work)... it seems there is no name for the whole character, although some places had the entire character just listed as 'cedilla'.

i'm pretty sure there IS a name. but i can't remember right now. meeting some french people in 2 weeks. i'll ask them if i remember.

"Not in French. The letter appears in Turksih (with value /tS/), maybe
they have a different name for it."

"C-cedilla, which may seem like a copout."
