The Apples were much better before they got a recording budget and Schneider decided he was a producer.

OTC were always bloated and overgrasping, but made some decent pop, particularly on the first record ("NYC-25", "Jumping Fences").

NMH, well, they kinda drive me nuts, but "Naomi" is an undeniably brilliant song.

The rest are (even more) hit and miss, and not really worth the time, if you ask me. Minders are probably the best of the rest, though I could be forgetting someone, it's been a while.

That was after they got a budget though, but that record has some awesome songs.

I like some Beulah and The Essex Green, too, but I may be alone here. Well, except for paul.

Actually, I forgot about those bands, and yeah, not too bad either.

Props to Beulah & Essex Green from me as well.

Major Organ & the Adding Machine is a bizarre & interesting one.

i really cant think of any E6 bands that i dont like actually.

altho a few of the lesser/tenuously related/etc. kinda bands arent so good.... i heard the Visitations album and thought it was fucking awful and then i saw on elephant6.com that i guess they're somewhat related... and i remember von hemmling and fablefactory being not too good.... but all of the the bands that people actually talk about, i pretty much like.... altho some newer stuff like the last Beulah i thought was kinda bland...

i fucking love Major Organ & The Adding Machine, everyone hates that album tho.... elephant6.com has listed that there's gonna be another Major Organ cd, or an outtakes album or something.... i hope it really happens...

I don't think any E6 band is astonishing or outstanding, really, but all the ones I've heard are pretty solid, fun sunshiney pop with experimental flourishes. Except for that Music Tapes project, which I thouth was pretty unlistenable wankery.

i don't dislike the music tapes or the marshmallow coast. but i don't listen to them much either.
