It's the 'decide to be' part that undermines her argument. I call for the largest LGBTQ square dance club in the world two nights a week, and nobody 'decides' to be other gender, it's not like shopping for a car.

Which is not to say there isn't something to the argument regarding trans-athletes in sports. It's not a new issue. After Stella Walsh (18 world track records) died she was found to have had 'ambiguous sexuality," and Caster Semenya's gender has been analyzed a dozen times.

But you can't trivialize the issue by saying 'decide to be.' They KNOW they are the other gender, appearances to the contrary, and if they are also athletes . . . well, therein lies the not-so-simple problem.
