The Jets just looked as though they were uninterested in making the postseason. How do you play so flat in such a huge game?

KC looked unstoppable for three and a half quarters, but acted like they preferred to give the game away late in the fourth. Homeritis has broken out here and most Chiefs fans think they're going all the way. I still see no difference between this team, and every other iteration Tater Midwest has coached.
I don't have an opinion about the Chiefs, not having followed them at all but note they were outgained for the season and were +15 in turnover margin.
Yeah, +17 going into todays game. And they don't get to play some of the worst offenses in the game any more. There's always a chance they could accidentally fall ass backwards into the divisional round, but I'd be shocked to see them make it past that.

They've got the Texans next week, I believe. And the Texans are also on a hot streak right now.

The only thing left would be to reanimate the corpse of Artie and have him perform a hostile takeover.
Latest gossip is that Marrone gets the first interview with Cleveland.
Update- now denied by Haslem.
That's almost as bad as Kelly...

Pagano gets the ax. He'll likely get another HC gig, but he shouldn't.

So the 49ers run off Harbaugh and then fire his replacement after one season? Fine organization imo.

Everybody wants the owner fired but nobody can figure out how to do it.

They may lose to them but I think the Redskins are very fortunate to have drawn the Packers instead of the Seahags; until somebody drives a wooden stake between the estrogen laced manboobs of Pete Carroll, they scare me in the playoffs. I still don't understand the positive press that Teddy Bridgewater gets; he reminds me of RG3 when things started falling apart.

Chip Kelly is pushing for their job now, kind of funny.

The Super Bowl lines indicate six teams that are bunched together with a chance to win the Super Bowl and six longshots.

That's a sad, but excellent point, Cappz. They should let Jerry have Johnny, and throw more spaghetti at the wall come draft day.

As for HTTR, they should put a pretty nasty beat down on the Pack, who are arguably the worst team in the playoffs. Beyond that, they are still my dark horse team. The thing about the playoffs is that no team has come in beating any significant teams, so it's really impossible to predict what is going to happen. And the Skins are playing as well, or better, than most of the others. I like their chances to have a respectable postseason showing.

So is...ugh...Mike Shanahan. I guess he's not done destroying the careers of young QBs.

*edit* Gordo beat me to it.

The sports talk guys are already talking about how the Browns owner is stating that the next head coach will report directly to him. I don't foresee any problems with that arrangement.

Adam Schefter is talking about maybe Sean Payton to the Giants, that would be great, although neither he nor Coughlin have actually been fired yet.

Payton isn't going to be fired. The Saints are looking to "trade" him a la Gruden, or Rivers in the NBA.

I for one will say that I have really soured on that piece of shit over the years. The final nail in the coffin happened during a game this year. He was pacing the sidelines when some kind of team assistant walked up to hand him something, and Payton looked him in the eyes and said, "fuck off!", and kept pacing. Had to rewind the DVR to make sure I actually saw what I thought I saw. Yep, I did.

Fuck that bullshit. I don't give two fucks what kind of day/week/year you're having. You don't treat people under you like that. He can eat shit and die a slow and painful, parasitic-infested death for all I give a shit. And I will certainly root against ANY team he coaches in the future.

Oh, and I did hear right about the Browns attorney controlling the 53 man.

They have turned into the most bizarre professional football organization of all time.

I was going to joke that someone at Ford Field is furiously taking notes here, then I saw this bonbon in the article:
Haslam said he’s hired the search firm Korn Ferry to assist himself, his wife, Dee Haslam and (Browns’ general counsel Sashi) Brown in searching for a new head coach.
I'm in awe.
