Looong drives, to and from a daytime gig in Silicon Valley for Cisco Systems (what a corporate campus!), drove down to Milpitas after my club dance last night to avoid the morning commute, but lots of driving = more listening time.

Livio Minafra Quartet -- Surprise!!! (I love all three of this kid's albums -- great genes -- but this one will probably surpass his first as my favorite!)

Pino Minafra -- Sudori

Peter Garland -- Three Strange Angels (Best use of bullroarers and sirens in classical music)

The Essential David Allan Coe (the outest of the outlaws, had a cell next to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who tutored him)

Jerry Butler -- The Sweetest Soul (The Iceman)

Shemekia Copeland --Turn The Heat Up

Wagner -- Orchestral Music

Overall I quite liked it, especially the second piece Septima, in which they use many odd noise making objects, there is close ups of the objects they use and the sounds they make in some parts of it, it's the noisiest of the three pieces, and very interesting to watch, Moroiso is the quietest piece which is a field recording of a beach interacted with some. There's some really short previews of the dvd on youtube:

Re: Now Playing
my favorite of the series so far, no surprise.
Re: Now Playing

Can't remember if I used to like this, but I couldn't get through it yesterday. Too much Crispell. Too much Teitelbaum.
