Words cannot express the vertiginous retching horror that enveloped me as I lost consciousness, as WSB once wrote.
hehe, I had the Woody Allen once (I think the place was Carnegie Deli). Bigger than my head served in 2 absurdly thin slices of bread and held together with a looong toothpick. NY is such a fun place.

Carnegie Deli is disgusting (really pretty much inedible) and has been for at least 10 years or so (it was great a few decades back), Katz's still rules and isn't anywhere near as big (although the way to go is still to order two extra pieces of rye and make it two sandwiches). just to be clear...

My only regret was that we didn't walk 60 yards up the block to Russ and Daughters afterwards and stock up on bialys for the return trip! Though after lunch at Katz's more food is about the last thing on yr mind..
Headed out for a (very good but not cheap) late nite martini here http://www.gallaghersnysteakhouse.com/gallery.html - next time we'll go for the steak (the Power Lunch menu is surprisingly affordable).
