Hmm. Kinda revising my thoughts on the Pallbearer. The last song sounds like a heavier Jesu with the singer affecting a sort of pinched Perry Farrell delivery. Basically, it makes me want to throw pottery from my rooftop during a parade. I still dig the first half of the album though. Can't win them all.

I've been listening to Pseudogod a lot lately. I still haven't heard the new album. I should, but I probably won't. I kind of think the early stuff is just so good at what it does that any "progression" would limit their gruesome appeal. Seriously, the dudes posed with cadavers. Jeez.

Was listening to the Vlad Tepes/Belketre album the other day, great record. The riffs are awesome. It made me go find for Mutiilation stuff I hadn't listen to before, like Sorrow Galaxies.

I can't Fucking stand that Pallbearers guys vocals.... that last track on the Loss album is totally objectionable, I haven't bothered with the actual Pallbearer album because of it. I kInd of blame Warning for this sort of thing.....

I'll give you that. I don't mind his voice in general, but again the last couple songs are pretty awful.

Never cared that much for Slayer, except for Seasons In The Abyss and South Of Heaven, both of which I think are phenomenal. I can still remember seeing the clip for Seasons In The Abyss on Headbanger's Ball for the first time when I was 14 or so.

Yep, sad news. I stopped caring a lot of years ago, but I think that Reign In Blood is the record that I have played most in all my 41 years of life (my vinyl is literally destroyed), and I consider it one of the best works of rock music ever made. I still remember the exact moment when I put it on my record player for the first time.

Yeah, sad news. I think I'm on record here stating I didn't care for Slayer, but the last year I've gotten really into them, at least the early albums, especially Show No Mercy, which I love. I guess I finally gave them a chance. Anyway, agreed that the new stuff pales in comparison to the first records, and their days of glory are now sadly far behind them. They'll probably keep trudging on. Oh well.

In other news, I've really been digging the new Axis of LIght/ Death Fortress tape on Fallen Empire -- primitive but epic black metal that hits all the right buttons for me at least. Check it out.

It might not be very metal metal, but I've rediscovered Mandylion of The Gathering. 1995. Listened to it a lot back in the days, must be more than 15 years sins I've spun it. It still clicks.
