on an entirely different note, those in NYC looking for a night of music to blow the top of their skull off are in luck as this seemingly sure thing is next weekend, on what is supposed to be quite the booming system:

AMPLIFY 2013: rotation
Re: AMPLIFY 2013: rotation
several remarks about pisaro's contribution to the duo set, including ratliff's in the NYT, suggest a lack on his part - any elaboration on that from an attendee? (curious as i am wondering if these comments reflect more the listener's inexperience with pisaro's sound world - or if indeed an ill-fit with rowe).

Ben wrote about Hearing Metal 2 and 3 in 2011 and he has heard at least a few others:

the Keith/Michael set made a lot more sense to me after the full sequence as the first of the four over a set of standalone music, I doubt almost anyone would argue that it was a perfect musical set on its own. people who only heard 1.2 or 2 of the 4 didn't get that perspective, so I can understand those general impressions, especially the less of the rest of it that they were at.

Yuko wanted to write about the Rowe/Pisaro set since she really enjoyed it, she just posted about it on her blog:
