Small FAces Decca s/t great '66 debut lp by mod band.Liner notes on this deluxe reissue make mention of them being a proto-drone band , developed from their jamming as pretty basic musicians on r'n'b numbers, making comparisons to the Pink Floyd doing similar at the same time. I think Small Faces are more at home in r'n'b though, as you can see in their soul reworkings and the version of Muddy Waters You Need Loving that Led zep borrowed from so heavily.

Unfortunately the local HMV had deliveries screwed up and the only 2 discs from the current reissues they got were the Decca ones and I'm more interested in the Immediate material overall.
I am a big fan of this lp and it is sublime, also had big influence on the mid 70s punk outbreak.
Looking heavily forward to getting the Immediate s/t though, don't think I'm quite as bothered about the Ogden's though I think that's the one being pushed as the prestige, it has 3cds to the other 3's 2.
I love their psych/freakbeat era though.

Also picked up the MBV reissues recently. & it does look like Loveless is reversed to what it says on the sleeve, Analogue is disc 1, not 2. can really get lost in its sound now.

I was in my hometown, Chattanooga, TN, last weekend for my sister's wedding. Went to the only decent record store, Chad's, and made out really well.

I agree with Alastair's recent comment re: King Crimson, and anyone could've said this even 20 years ago:

Werder/Kahn Winds Measure box set review pending, the Parmegiani is the exception, layers of an onion and such, I got it when it came out and still haven't listened to two discs, really a handy peak harvest of consistently superlative INA-GRM work, so much better among the heavy overviews than Ferrari's L'Œuvre Électronique (another thread).

Yes, I stumbled over this in one of my favorite record shops. I was astonished due to it's price - an absolute no-brainer. And on the following rainy weekend I heard disc after disc til the last. I like Ferrari's L'Œuvre Électronique too. But you are right; this is stunning. As I was somewhat used to Ferrari's work I wasn't that with Permegiani's. And so for me I discovered a treasure.

What kind of pressing issues do you mean? I considered to get the LP, just been put off by the unreasonable Alga Marghen™ price policy.

Thanks for reminding me of the Parmegiani set's existence. I downloaded it just before power went out due to hurricane Isaac and this set has been accompanying my ears during the temporary evac until the lines come back up (hopefully today). Funny thing is that I sold my records due to having to move so much in the aftermath of another storm whose anniversary just passed... The relevance is that I've gotten used to the idea of not carting hard copies around and going digital more and more. $20 for the Parmegiani set on Amazon. The best $20 I spent in ages, rewarded with ideal listening for being limited to being locked in headphones for days. The only issue: too terrifying to listen to on the first night of the storm. The sound was just too intense. Distraction was needed instead. Parmegiani was replaced by a popular 80s group whose name rhymes and is a description of the feelings that night, though that music was a good generic salve. In any case, it's the memories that surround the first intensive listens to albums that haunt later. The Parmegiani set now has an extra history for me. Text message just now confirmed power back. Yay.
