FINAL DEADLINE IS APPROACHING!

No more extensions - April 15th @ 11:59PM EST is the last day you can submit so Niwi and I can start putting this thing together!

FWIW, I have some excellent short tracks that I think will make the whole thing flow better. So if you have a short piece, that's totally fine to send too. In fact, it might help the sequencing.

Keep it coming and thanks to all who have submitted so far.

Thanks to everyone for submissions! Niwi and I will now start work compiling everything.

In the meantime - please post any ideas for album art and/or titles for the comp.

so, so far there was 'Olives & Pancakes', and then 'Butte & Building' and then 'Roller Coaster & that lantern thing' .......'Apples & Oranges?'

I guess it depends whether it's going to be split up into two or not......

Don't really know what appeals to the board/submitters... is this compilation #4?
How bout something food-related?
Like an appetizer, or a lite snack?
Are there any soup/salad-type tracks?
Anything really substantial, like a big entree?
Is it like a buffet, or like a Brazillian service-type setup?
Shit, I donno. Lets see what made the cut.

Huh?

It's the fifth compilation, as per the thread title...

We're not sure if this will be a single or double disc compilation just yet, but I tend to want it to be cut down to a single disc if possible. Niwi and I are still reviewing everything, so we're not sure on that yet. The tracks that made the cut will not be announced until the compilation is released to the public. I have no problem with keeping things in line with the previous compilations as far as the images (even if it ends up being a single disc), so if anyone would like to post two images that work together, please do.

I don't think I've ever bothered to propose art for one of these before. I feel weird doing so for some reason.

and I wish there were a clearer FIVE in these images - though one could bullshit the significance of the 5" cdr....

but here you go. two images that work together in case this has to be a 2-disc again.

Yuko says that the posters here are like a bunch of baby tigers, so I googled that and found this, for your consideration:

Ha! Awesome, Jon.

I rather like the idea of two 3-inch cds - hadn't even considered that, Mark. If that's the case, Richard's submission would work pretty nicely.

Keep em comin' - much appreciated!

just curious, why are you tying this to physical formats?

Yeah - not much of a reason or need to, really, since I doubt more than 1% of people will want to burn this as opposed to listening to it on a computer/iPod/etc. I know I haven't burned any of the past comps, myself. If anything, it's just a way to place some sort of restriction regarding the length. Have people burned the comps in the past? Curious...

Have not burned that, or anything, in years perhaps.

the physical equivalence is purely artifice. i never burn things to cd, but i appreciate their appropriate shape and size.

if it does end up as two distinct things, they should be approximately equal. also, artwork should be original.

is my opinion, of course.

Agreed on that, Mark - thanks. Please make sure artwork submissions are original.
