Microtuning Synthesizers - Yamahas

Any advice on microtuning with the DX7S/IID or any other Yamahas? How easy is to get the workflow going? Yeah, I know there are a million discussion boards/webpages about this, but I want to hear personal experiences in set-up and use.

Came up with a temporary solution for microtuning on the cheap. If anyone's interested, just respond!

Good luck with the DX7. I've heard they are difficult to program.. nice sounds, though.

On a concert I did with Palinckx in Zürich my DX7 pitch bend wheel broke down. It hadn't shown any problem before but hey, at one of the most important gigs (the Taktlos festival, Rote Fabrik in Zürich) it broke in the middle of the gig, meaning an A would be a A-flat etc, and going down and down....
Still, the concert came out on cd (Palinckx, Border- live in Zürich, 1995 check it out!!!!) and as far as I'm concerned, it sounds great, although I can still hear my struggle with the pitching.... I had to adjust all the time, and even played some tune a note up because the pitch adjustion couldn't go further than a half note......

After that I tried to repair it, but in the end I did bring it to a shop and the guy working there said he worked on it for hours to fix it.
Still, although he did a good job (wires around wheels there, nothing digital..like a radio tuner) it worked different after that, but I'd been playing it for years, so that's logical I guess
