(experimental) Music Jokes
(experimental) Music Jokes
I came up with a couple this week, feel free to get stupid here, and workshop possible punchlines... I was tempted to put this up at iheartnoise instead, but then wanted to show how this board isn't as stuffy as it can sometimes come across to people

Q: Talkin psychoacoustics, ya know the algorithm for simulating binaural recording virtually, the 'head related transfer function'?
A: Well, I've HRTF it!
(groan?)

Re: (experimental) Music Jokes
I saw Ricardo Aria play last week; his set made a good case for why balloons work so well in experimental music, as otherwise they'd have to go 'pop'!
(groan 2x, also Judy Dunaway is useable here)

Re: (experimental) Music Jokes
what did Stockhausen say to Cage when his preparations weren't quite gelling?
"Well don't have a timbre-tantrum, John Cage!"
(uhm, works best with ridiculous stockhausen accent on the punchline)

Re: (experimental) Music Jokes
Diego Chamy is making a joke about experimental music. Now he is not.
Re: (experimental) Music Jokes
I was Wondering how long it'd take to see Chamy's name pop up here! Sooner than I thought..
Re: (experimental) Music Jokes
Why are EAI musicians more rock'n'roll than rock'nroll?
They break their instruments before they play!
(though, if pressed, I don't know if I could come up with and examples of that, per se)

There must be some good riffs on the old 'an Englishman, Irishamn and Scotsman...' type jokes? Or any of the 'someone' goes into a bar gags...?
Radu Malfatti and Taku Sugimoto walk into a bar, 'what can I get you?' asks the barman...
'A couple of bacardi breezers please' came the reply.
'Why the long pause?' asks the barman.

Experimental music should be something that suggests a way of organizing your thinking, your attitude toward the world, which suggests that the world could be different.
