Kinda weird how they list Oliveros' contribution is listed as "Accordion & Voice" and then in the PR it's labeled as "Horse Sings From Cloud (Encore)." But whatever. I'm looking forward to this big time.

I talked to Che about this tonight, and he told me that the Oliveros piece is from a live performance around the time she was performing material that followed the structure of the material on her "Accordion and Voice" album. The recording on this lp is from the encore of one of those performances, where she played in a similar style, but in a way that's structured differently than the way that "Horse Sings From Cloud" is structured on "Accordion and Voice".

From what Che tells me, this sounds like it is an amazing package, worth it alone for the book.

It's not so bad. But strange. They used the same image, but with different colours, for a Palestine record :

I wonder if either image has anything to do with Radigue or Palestine. It is an image that's clearly from the '70s, though, so in my mind it kind of works.

Really looking forward to it, though. Anything new by Radigue is a celebration to be had. I thought Elemental II was a bit bass-heavy, so it'll be interesting to see how this one sounds.

It's a serie of algha marghen with events related to le centre georges pompidou at Paris. The Luc Ferrari one is red, and the disc of Brunhild Ferrari is blue...

Do you know anything about the image or why it's used ?

i didn't mean to imply that there was no progression, but it's almost certainly a loop (this is Lescalleet we're talking about, plus it's called Music for Magnetic Tape after all). iirc it repeats three times with different manipulations each time and with Lescalleet presumably grabbing the tape to make it briefly feedback at one point. it didn't strike me as particularly unexpected either, particularly after "Lucy Song".

i admit it's not among the major Lescalleet releases. but i just got it as a present in the mail, and i'm enjoying it a lot. it's very simple, but beautiful, and i find nothing wrong with that. anyway, is it still available?

it's still officially not available yet. the label is shut down till next week, i imagine the official edition will be out some time soon after.

i'll pass on the upload myself, thanks - listening to tapes on tape is part and parcel to me.
