my thoughts exactly on miguel's work.. for those who may have missed it, homo022 is miguel under the 'xedh' moniker. he took a novel and charming approach for his homophoni submission, sending me a short soundbyte of the proposed work, only agreeing to send the entire piece after we had struck up a dialogue. my jerk response to his work was to lump him into the all-encompassing noise category, but i quickly began to appreciate his controlling and forceful style of improvisation. as you mention, his work is occasionally earsplitting, but there is a direction and movement that makes the bitter pill much easier to swallow. he was forceful in our interaction as well, with very specific ideas about every aspect of the release, which was at times frustrating, but translated to a truly elegant finished product. anyways, sorry for the shameless promotion, but i figured it was relevant, and hopefully the free download will help to sway listeners towards checking out his recent full-lengths.bedouin wrote:MIGUEL A. All sorts of noises placed over what sounds like feedback from defunct mechanical devices. Earsplitting at times, but Garcia never looses control of the music. Hadn't heard of this guy before. Extrordinary stuff!

Anne Guthrie - Standing Sitting
You know what... this is quite the excellent piece of work! Really unassuming and elegantly recorded, perhaps one of my highlights of the year...!
