Gendai Hogaku composers of note?

I've had an interest in hearing newer, modern works composed for traditional Japanese ensembles lately, but have had trouble finding available works in this genre, other than some Takemitsu pieces for traditional instruments and a Somei Satoh CD I found at work (which was very good, but I hear bad things about some of his other work). Does anyone have suggestions or recommendations on where I would look for modern pieces (of an avant-garde nature) written for Japanese ensembles?

Edit: I am aware of the Japan series on Tzadik and have bought CDs by Mamoru Fujieda and Yagi Michiyo and fond them quite enjoyable. I've seen the genre of contemporary composition for traditional instruments referred to as "Gendai Hogaku" but maybe this is a more specific term. In any case, I've looked at the Tzadik catalog extensively for this kind of thing, so suggestions aside from Tzadik would be great.

Not so much Japanese Ensembles, but both Chaya Czernowin and Richard Barrett have written works for chamber ensembles that include Japanese instruments. Several of Barrett's works (I believe both Opening of the Mouth and Negatives) include parts for koto, and Chaya Czernowin has written a fantastic trio for u (a japanese mouth organ), saxophone and double bass.

A recording of the latter can be seen HERE, except that the u part is played on accordion... a recording complete with u is available on THIS Mode cd.

Well that Chaya Czerowin disc wasn't exactly what I'm looking for regarding this post (I'm trying to find composers that come more from a background of Japanese music) but it does actually sound really interesting and I'll check it out - I like bass flute and I like things that are compared with Xenakis. I'll be ordering that one on thursday for sure. Thanks for the rec.
