...and there is much to explore - even with their side projects "Psychic TV" and "Chris & Cosey"cheerios wrote:Throbbing Gristle. I just discovered this band, had heard of them before but never explored.
I have seen TG live and this was my initiation to "Noise" music. Impressing show.
My favourites are the "second annual report", "20 Jazz Funk Greats" and "Rafters"

Charlemagne Palestine - Relationship Studies (Alga Marghen)
Terrific!
Re: Now Playing
Patty Waters...her music is woot and influenced a lot of great artists, namely jazz vocalists but many others as well. it's too bad she isn't known by more people
Re: Now Playing
I was just listening to a cover version of her doing "Black is the color of my true love's hair" where she sings and screams, wails and howls on the song (kind of like a banshee). It's really great, and worth checking out.

Bookmark the Urban Dictionary, Dan, you're going to need it. We're heading towards Burgess' lexicon in Clockwork Orange, at least on the net.

Albanian folk songs. By the way, do we have a soul seek room?

Lafkas / Bullock - Ceremonies to Breathe Upon [winds measure recordings]
Re: Now Playing
Pere Ubu - 30 seconds over Tokyo a few times
and now
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Meeting of the Spirits a few times.
Both my favorite songs of the respective band.
I remember hearing Meeting on the radio as a teen, and found it absolutely amazing. Still works about the same, hasn't lost any of its magic for me in nearly 25 years.
