I have a copy of Dixon's self-published book L'Opera. I've been considering scanning it and sharing, but I know he was very protective of his intellectual property. Maybe now's the time? Pretty interesting read.

Today I tried Nono's Io, frammento di Prometeo, and didn't get past the first 15 minutes.

olivia block and kyle bruckmann - teem

a bunch of listens in, but i think this is the first one closely paying attention on good speakers. really been digging it. great use of quasi-romantic oboe melody in the first piece without being cloying at all. (it helps that there's a bunch of percussive junk and high-frequency oboe whistles going at the same time.)

The Party of Helicopters "Space and How Sweet it is"

I'm not sure how well this one has aged, but I still dig the weirdo harmonies on some of these songs. They were definitely a strange band...
