And for the Faust: For me these are two different records (I got them on vinyl. I am a vinyl junkie.) It depends on my mood which one I prefer.

Ha! I was just listening to the Pinder Family. Happy all the time, indeed.
You, of all people, should understand
Re: Now Playing
that cover is so awful; i think there's a release with a different one, not that i own either. i bought the reissue of "Bahamian Guitarist" on mississippi records a little while ago, recorded a few years after "Happy..." live in front of a studio audience (i think?). it's great but he had lost a bit of his edge.

Re: Now Playing
funny, just the other day i was listening to The Real Bahamas vol 1-2, which has some superb spence/pinder tracks along with other equally great field recordings (there is a bass guy on a couple of tracks that almost sounds like a tuvan throat singer!).
"can you read music, spence?" (everyone calls him "spence"-even his wife, even his sister)
"no, i cannot read music"
"how did you learn this song?"
"from this book mon. there's a lot of funny songs in this book. lot of funny songs"
"but if you can't read notes, how did you learn the melody to this song?"
"I's talented"
