Most of their other releases (including all the ones I have) are old soul and funk compilations from old labels like Deep City, Tragar, Note, Prix, Twinight, Big Mack, and others.

Tony Oxley/Derek Bailey "Advocate"
Some of the best Bailey I've heard (although I haven't heard too much).
It occurred to me while listening to this that I have never heard him in anything other than a solo context (with the exception of Arch Duos, which I didn't like). Didn't know what I had been missing. Also this is the first time I've heard Tony Oxley that I know of. What a great record.

Nope not heard/seen that one... I was always quite tempted to get his follow up to Sign but never went for it for one reason or another. I've got to be honest, it's not likely that I'll be going out and buying this type of stuff anytime soon but it's nice to go back to CD's that I've enjoyed in the past but don't get frequent spins.

With regards to the 'skipping CD' type stuff I was always quite partial to this and have been listening back lately as my girlfriend likes it a lot:

i bet it doesn't quite hold up anymore, but nobukazu takemura's 'scope' was a huge huge huge influence on my musical taste at the time (98-99, i believe). also, 'gaijinCD4' by disc.

The last few days, I listened through a mix of Melt Banana, Etron Fou Leloublan (concert recordings) and Björk (basically TV-performances & pro-shot videos).

n.p.: "I love to love" by Björk, as I understand recorded 1975. Really quite something.

Halflings - Cought it Up

on RFKKorp's rec. Not so keen on the PE vocals, but the music's great. Not comparable to The Yellow Swans recs though.
