I don't have the Rowe/Sachiko M release, contact (yet), so I was unable to listen through the Amplify 2008 sets involving Rowe exactly as they occurred-but this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. El008 (particularly the unrelenting first half of their set) will blow your shit away, the second half approximating the distillation/onion-peeling process heard in the last 1 1/2 hours of EL005. Remarkable series, not sure I can come up with a stronger simpatico/mind-meld duo in improv (excepting Rainey/Kelley), than Rowe and Nakamura.

Really it's a document of an installation piece so all the spatial potential is lost into stereo, but still liking it a lot. I think he probably overdoes the dripping sounds, which are sourced to that dish at the bottom of the drawing and could have focused more on the resonances of the cans.
