I'm especially stoked for Ethier, who really swung a big bat in the series. The short rest will be good for Manny's hand, and he already looked more like himself today. Never would have thought the Dodger pitchers would hold the Cards to so few runs.

Wonder if they'll ever shorten up the regular season a bit and lengthen these first playoff series to 7 games. It seems like such an obvious win-win change for MLB.

Congrats Noj; condolences Schau. Actually I'm glad for Casey Blake; lots of guys in Cleve didn't like him and claimed he was Wedge's "pet" which is a really stupid concept but sports fans aren't known for winning mensa awards (not that those are worth a damn thing and mensas are dweeby cocksuckers). All Blake did was bust his ass and deliver when we needed a clutch hit. I really got in his corner when Wedge moved him to third, which had been a cluster-fuck of hired hands for years (Jesus Christ, we even used fucking Thome there back when he could still see his goddamn shoes) where he did just fine; no second coming of Brooks Robinson but good enough. Plus the Dodgers winning must *really* bother the Bard of cheap wine.

He who must not be named has naturally made pariah of himself at the org board, and routinely resorts to inane vulgarities directed at the Dodgers.

Blake's solid, no doubt. His beard is intimidating. The Dodgers have had a number of good players come through who I thought they would keep longer at third (Konerko, Werth, etc.).

Yep, condolences to St. Louis. Those first two games involved a lot of lucky breaks for the boys in blue. Blake's walk in game two was a huge at-bat. He's not a star, but he's steady, has some pop, and never really fucks up.

Nice to see Manny making some hard contact too, and Ethier, well, kid's had a hell of a run this year. He's known for playing with a chip on his shoulder, "no respect" and all that...wonder how long he can keep that up now that he's LA's golden boy.

Congrats Jon & Joe, I'll be rooting for you. Wish I could've recorded the 5-7 minute phone conversation with my dad at halftime today. The series wasn't brought up once, he just gave a guy life no parole on Friday and that shit always weighs on him, this doesn't improve general life outlook. We just volleyed about the Rams and drafting white defensive lineman after white defensive lineman, cathartic to be sure. Go Dodgers.

The look on his face was priceless. I thought we had a 50/50 chance of him storming out and throwing a tantrum, flailing about at nothing in particular, throwing punches at the air and whatnot. Alas, no such luck.
