I haven't found confirmation, but word is all the guns were registered to him and legal, so he's only looking at charges for concealing them. If it's three separate charges, that could still amount to something pretty serious, but it shouldn't turn into a Plaxico-type situation.

2 misdemeanors for concealed weapons. probably no jail time. similar misdemeanors have resulted in 3-5 game suspensions, but his might be a little more as guns were involved.

Q: Can you see yourself playing with Curry in the backcourt?

-ELLIS: I can’t answer that. Us together? No.

-Q: Why not?

-ELLIS: Can’t. We just can’t.

-Q: Too small? Too similar?

-ELLIS: Just can’t.

-Q: The Warriors say you can.

-ELLIS: They say we can? Yeah. If they say it. But we can’t.

-Q: You wouldn’t want to give it a shot?

-ELLIS: I just want to win. That’s… not going to win that way.

-Q: Why not?

-ELLIS: It’s different when you’re trying to compare me and Stephen, when you’re trying to go back to when me and BD were playing, it’s a different situation.

You’ve got a nine-year veteran who’s been in the game, who understands the game, knows how to play the game, and he’s a big body…

You can’t put two small guys out there and try to play the 1 and the 2 when you’ve got big 2 guards in the league. You just can’t do it.

OK, yes, we’re going to move up and down fast, but eventually the game is going to slow down.

You can’t do it.

It's funny that guys like Stephen Jackson or Monta Ellis can't wrap their brains around how to address the media and say non-controversial things. The consequences for stupidly blabbing ammunition to reporters must not be harsh enough for it to matter, or there is simply a learning disability involved. I mean, how difficult is it to express your actual concerns only to the coaching staff while just saying the cliche stuff to the microphone?

A perfect example of this was Terrell Owens yesterday, who couldn't help himself but to utter a controversial statement even when trying to not be controversial. When asked the very leading question of whether he and another receiver were being "wasted in the offense" he responded with "we're just going with the plays that are called." How 'bout, "Not at all. Our offensive coordinator calls a good game and we are executing it to the best of our ability as a team." I mean, it's as simple as remembering who is on your team and defending them at every turn.

Ellis' dumb ass could just look at the reporter and say, "I'm looking forward to playing with Curry. He's an exciting young scorer with a bright future in this league, and hopefully I can help him transition to the NBA game." Give the dirty laundry to those who can clean it, don't wear it for those who will smell it and tell everyone how much you stink.

that's all fine and probably even true, but also Ellis is right, he and Curry are the exact same type player, and it was ridiculous for GS to have drafted Curry without dealing Ellis.

also, then Curry would be on NY where he belongs. :(

Can't disagree with that. Ellis is correct, they'll have a very hard time defending other teams. He's just whining about it to people who can't help him with it. I guess he can make a big enough stink about it until they trade him, but it's not a very self-serving way to do business.

Between Lamar Odom's WTF wedding and Ron Artest wearing a Manny Ramirez wig in the Times, Cirque Du Lakers is off to a rousing start.

Was Curry drafted by Mullin or the new guy Riley? I was about to comment that it was another dumbfuck draft move by Mullin until I checked at Wiki to see if he was still there. Holy shit they're talking about him going to the Knicks and being reunited with Walsh (or is that old news that I've been out of the loop on :? ).

On paper, I don't think Cleveland will make it past Boston or Orlando--but I'll root for LeBron to do it.

I heard some talking heads discussing the mental health of Delonte West. I knew he was heavily tattooed and recently arrested for being heavily armed, but I didn't know he was loony tunes.

Have you ever heard him interviewed? He sounds like he emerged from three days deeper in the pines than the Deliverance assfuckers.

Do a google on Delonte and the first thing down the list is "Delonte West herpes"

Darko in NY.

People bag on Dumars about that kid, but he was high on every team's draft board that year. Joe D has made plenty of mistakes but at this point, I'm not sure that was even one of his worst ones.

The biggest joke in the NBA thinks he's going to play for the Bulls this year. I really mean it when I say he's the BIGGEST joke. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=324297

I think you are right. I don't remember anybody dumping on Dumars at the time of the pick.

I saw some of Houston/Boston yesterday on TV. Rondo is all bulked up (+9 lbs) and Perkins is all bulked down (-20 lbs). Davis looks like he spent some time in the weight room too.

that seems bad for the first two and good for Davis. did Rondo look just as lightning quick?

DuJuan Blair was held to 19 rebounds in his NBA preseason debut.

Nice pick RC!

He kind of sucked, actually. I think both Daniels and Garnett had more assists, but he had more turnovers.

I didn't see their second game.
