Quick update on the programme:

on Thursday 11th Sebastian Lexer (piano+) will be playing with Aleks Kolkowski (Stroh-violin), a nice mix of old and new technologies

also on the Thursday Phil Minton unfortunately can't make it, but the good news is that we're very hopeful that Lucio Capece will be in town to deputise, so the full programme is now looking like:

8pm Thursday 11th June, Cafe Oto, Ashwin Street, London E8 3DL
set 1: Sebastian Lexer (piano+) & Aleks Kolkowski (Stroh-violin)
set 2: Angharad Davies (violin) Tom Chant (saxes) Benedict Drew (electronics) John Edwards (bass) - improv set
set 3: Rhodri Davies (harps) Lee Patterson (amplified objects) Louisa Martin (laptop) + Lucio Capece (sax, tbc)
set 4: Angharad Davies / Tom Chant / Benedict Drew / John Edwards - performance of Cage's 'Four 6'

8pm Friday 12th June, Cafe Oto, Ashwin Street, London E8 3DL
set 1: Jamie Coleman (trumpet) Ute Kanngiesser (cello) Paul Abbott (electronics) Grundik Kasyansky (electronics)
set 2: Bechir Saade (bass clarinet & ney) Clive Bell (shakuhachi) Matt Milton (violin)
set 3: Keith Rowe (guitar & electronics) Martin Kuchen (saxes) Seymour Wright (alto sax)

8pm Saturday 13th June, Seven Artspace, Harrogate Road, Leeds, LS7 3PD
set 1: Jez riley French (field recordings & zither) Patrick Farmer (unspecified instruments)
set 2: Keith Rowe (guitar & electronics) Martin Kuchen (saxes) Seymour Wright (alto sax)

I'm never talking again to anyone in the UK that doesn't make it to at least one night of this festival. ;)

Just to say that it is confirmed that Lucio Capece will be performing (alongside Rhodri Davies, Lee Patterson & Louisa Martin) on the Thursday concert at the Unnamed Music Festival at Cafe Oto on June 11th.

Simon can be heard here on The Wire's radio show on Thursday, talking about the festival and playing some tracks from forthcoming AT releases. He doesn't seem to want to mention it so I will instead ;)

In case any London people were wondering, I can confirm that the Thursday evening of The Unnamed Music Festival will go ahead as planned, in spite of the tube strike. All the musicians are able to make it to Cafe Oto, so anyone else who can get there will have lots of good things to listen to. As Lenin once said, 'better fewer but better'.

...but in spite of what Lenin once said, Friday night should also be great, and with the underground back running the Cafe will hopefully be packed to the rafters.

I'm just posting some travel information on the Another Timbre website which may be a useful starting point for anyone who's struggling to work out how to get there on Thursday. www.anothertimbre.com/

Very helpful. Thanks, Simon, and to Richard who also notified me. I've been able to work out alternate transportation from the airport and look forward to seeing you there.

After much confusing technical shenanigans I’ve finally managed to upload free mp3 extracts from six of the performances at The Unnamed Music Festival to the Another Timbre website. Because of FTP problems which led to the website going off-line last week, some search engines may keep leading you astray when you're searching for the site for the next couple of days. But if you google ‘another timbre downloads’ you should be alright,
or else just follow this link:
