y'know, i spent 3 months in scotland back in 06, and never once did anyone ever threaten to sell or give me a fried mars bar. i can't claim i ate well, because certainly i did not, but i managed to evade that culinary oddity.

so i guess one time (probably) won't kill me.

definitely intrigued about otomo on the piano. and of course where sachiko is headed with her contact mic performance. and... well i mean i could list half the sets really. and i may come around on the other half.

You know the only time I've ever eaten one (or one bite of one anyway) was in New York City!

They do exist though, and I quite like the idea of scaring people off with the threat of buying them one! Glasgow is officially the unhealthiest city in Europe.

I have the same problem trying to buy the £20 pass online. I'll probably phone them in the morning instead.

I emailed the Arches and they told me to give the box office a ring as the early bird £20 tickets are not available on the website.

...think you have to pick them up at the box office once you've booked. That's what I was told anyway.

Was sort of expecting them to mail them out... not delt with them before, so maybe just me being picky. As it stands, I don't even have a confirmaion email from them that I've booked anything

At least it's still open... the one I originally had booked (Quality Hotel) went into receivership in Jan. Luckily been bumped/upgraded elsewhere now. Thought I was going to be dossing in the fresh air for a while there.

heh I remember reading those reviews last year but still booking. Its not that bad really, just not very good either. It has three benefits: 1. Its cheap and 2. Its 50 yards from the venue. 3. Its therefore only 50 yards from the railway station as well.

Which pond are you talking about anyway? The River Clyde or the Atlantic?!

just a quick note to say:

1: INSTAL starts this coming Friday (20th). i hope some of you can make it along, and that those who do say hello.

2: in other news, we didn't have time/ space to fit it into the publicised programme, but we've been working for a wee while on an additional/ special performance (for small audience) by the quartet of Taku Unami, Sean Meehan, Radu Malfatti & Klaus Filip. i'm afraid to say we don't have this scheduled in just yet (the original venue was double booked), but hope that it'll be on friday or saturday night. as soon as we have this scheduled in i'll let you know here.

i'm rather cheesed off that I couldn't get the time to come to Instal this year - the line up is really good & lots of pals playing or attending.

I look forward (I think !) to hearing reports on the performances - though it will just cheese me off even more so any bad reviews might be better
