Jalen Rose just said on ESPN that he has "very credible sources" that have told him that Chris Bosh and LeBron James plan to join the Knicks together in the summer of 2010. I'm speechless.

also, Steve Nash is a free agent that summer too, I could certainly see him signing up for a couple of years with D'Antoni and those two.

Whether it's Bosh or another of the top FA's, I'm sure Walsh's plan is to sign James plus one.

I just finished watching last night's Raptors-Nets game. The fourth quarter and overtime were very exciting. The Harris-Kidd trade, which everybody except Mark Cuban knew favored the Nets may go down as one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history.

Cleveland has a two year window to try to win a championship. I think they should try to get Vince Carter before the trade deadline. He could put them over the top.

I like Brook Lopez off what I've seen of him so far but if Ratner is really looking to sell the franchise instead of moving them to Brooklyn, the future is bleak. I could see the team being sold and moving away from the East Coast.

Sentence 1 is a given but I'm shocked by the second one even knowing what a Vinsanity fan you've been through the years. The guy pulls an annual playoff disappearing act and we've already been treated to Larry Hughes doing the same. Adding Mo Weeyums made them a better team but they still need another player to make them a serious contender imo.

I'm still impressed with the wisdom of Joe D pulling off the AI move; the Pistons are perhaps the only team that Iverson could fit in with and perform well. I didn't realize that at first and just figured it to be a salary dump move with a potential additional upside. That and not having Joe E. Brown Saunders on the bench makes them a very potent team.

You are right about past history but he's never been the #2 go-to guy on a team in his career. He's a team player, excellent passer, still an offensive threat who doesn't have the knees to push hard for an entire game but he won't have to playing with LeBron.



I read that D'Antoni, forced to dress Marbury last night to avoid a forfeit, offered him 30-35 minutes of playing time but Marbury refused. The town idiot on the other board some of us frequent is a genius compared to Marbury.

I'm watching Chris Paul and the Hornets take on Baron Davis and the Clips, two of my favorite players to watch. I hated to see Cat Mobley go, but if Randolph isn't too much of a slug it will be cool to see what he and Kaman can do down low as a tandem.

Luke Walton will never sniff another meaningful minute so long as Trevor Ariza is healthy. The Lakers are balling, there's really not much to say but enjoy the show and hope no one gets hurt.

now Bill Simmons says there's a rumor that LeBron/Wade/Bosh all agreed in China this summer that they'd all sign with NY in 2010. um, I'll sign up for that.

NY is down to 2 healthy guards, and one of those (Duhon) is playing through injuries. meanwhile, the guy who's one of the three highest paid players in the league, Stephon Suckbury, refused to suit up again tonight when asked this afternoon by D'Antoni.

lastly, Mike Dunleavy needs to be fired, from both his jobs. he trades for Zach Randolph last week, tonight his team gets the ball back, down 1, 9 seconds to go. he doesn't call timeout, and they end up with Marcus Camby shooting a 3 pointer. not Baron Davis, not the red-hot Eric Gordon, not even Zach Randolph. Marcus Camby. shockingly, it missed.

A propos of nothing, I will report that I happened to be channel-surfing the other day, and landed on a 2004 overtime game between the Celtics and the Magic. The changes in the Cs make-up since then is telling. In retrospect it's clear that at that time they still were looking for white wonders. Who would be the savior? Would it be Gugliotta? Welsh? La Frentz? They were still desperately trying to put together a Bird/McHale/Ainge combo.

The only players on that team that are still in Boston are Pierce and Perkins.

the Mike Conley to Portland rumors are heating up. Conley hasn't looked good so far in the NBA, but reuniting him and Oden would be genius, I think, especially getting him this cheaply.

Portland could then start Oden/Aldridge/Webster/Roy/Conley (average age: 21!!!!), with Fernandez, Batum, Bayless, Crittenton, Frye off the bench (average age: 21 1/2!!!), plus the veterans Przybilla and Blake. plus they have the rights to Koponen (20) and Freeland (21), both playing great in Europe. Kevin Pritchard is making the rest of the league look silly.
