Having stuck with your boycott means you automatically had a better day than I.
First, I'm stuck with the Chefs/Falcons debacle for the first game.
Then CBS magically went off air for a long period of time leaving me nothing other than the Lambs/Sqwawks debacle for my second game.
Too bad, too. It looks as though the Steelers/Iggles tilt (which was supposed to be on our CBS station) was at least a hard fought game between two talented teams.
The most amusing facet of the day being that my buddy was fed up with Ronnie Brown on his fantasy team and benched him for the weekend! There's 41 points down the shitter. But, he won his game, so at least it won't hurt that much.
Nice to see the Dallas D actually show up for a change.
The NFC looks to be stronger than the AFC this year.
Indy does not look good, but I was happy for my boy Jacky Del for getting into the win column finally.

Why doesn't Detroit have an NFL team? Weird.
Re: NFL 2008-2009
I'd be laughing right along with you if I didn't have Kevin Smith starting on my fantasy team.

Dogma is his best by quite a bit.

Dogma made Chris Rock unfunny; no small task.

Except for the fact that 'Chasing Amy' is funnier and infinitely more enjoyable. I suppose if I were Catholic, more of 'Dogma' would resonate with me, and I don't dislike it, but saying that it's his best by quite a bit is asinine, sorry.jon abbey wrote:Dogma is his best by quite a bit.
Thinking about it, Scott probably meant the RB from UCF though, huh?

Re: NFL 2008-2009
'Chasing Amy' got really really stoopid at the end with Ben Affleck's *solution* which even real life Ben wouldn't be witless enough to come up with; although I might be giving Mr. Jennifer Garner too much credit. I'm not sure how this happened but I found myself in a situation where I saw "Clerks" a second time and it didn't hold up well. I saw 'Dogma' at a theater and found it painfully unfunny and difficult to endure; even though I'm not a mackerel snapper I did attend one of their high schools (DeMatha; go Stags) and have some insight into their dogma. I think with hauling George Carlin out of mothballs that it might've been made for the Ron Thornes of the world instead of me. I was warned away from 'Mall Rats' by somebody who's inflicted some Eddie Murphy stinkers on himself so I think it's safe for me to say that I don't regard Kevin Smith as a comedic genius.Borat Pri Hagafen wrote:Except for the fact that 'Chasing Amy' is funnier and infinitely more enjoyable. Back to the sport I'm boycotting: Wouldn't it be great if Favre retired again and then tried to come back in week 13 after the Jets did better without him?

Re: NFL 2008-2009
Dogma was terrible. But I made a quick Grant on the Chargers last night. SHOW ME YOUR LIGHTNING BOLT!
Re: NFL 2008-2009
I've just recently rewatched all of Smith's films except for Dogma (up next once I'm home), so I can't defend it too strongly, but I never liked Chasing Amy much, it's too serious and too far away from his strength.
Re: NFL 2008-2009
Dogma does have Linda Fiorentino who's been on my bench for quite some time now.

yeah, she's scrumpdillyumptious.
I guess as the moderator I should stop or delete this sidetrack, but I'm not going to.

Re: NFL 2008-2009
I've always thought of Dogma as one of those "I saw it, it was good, I'll never see it again" kind of movies.
Not terrible, by any stretch. Not great either. At least Affleck and Damon were halfway interesting in it. Not something you can say very often about either.
