Experimental music should be something that suggests a way of organizing your thinking, your attitude toward the world, which suggests that the world could be different.

saw one of these used for the equivalent of $8 today in Disk Union Kichijoji today, considered buying my first Erst ever but decided against it.

I paid a little more for it, and have no complaints.
Jon, the economy is in complete ruins here, consider a Japanese residency.

well, if it finally stops the wave of gentrification in my neighborhood and allows us to stay where we are and not get booted out again, I'm all for it. I do wish I was around to watch CNBC the last couple of days though, amazing times.

its pretty absurdly what the fuck simple...but its pulled off in the perfect way.

its a this guy has no idea what hes doing....wait my feet keep moving, and my ass keeps shaking, oh wait this is super fun kind of way. Its like, retarded nintendo music where the end of the game results in this crazy ass dance party (the last 2 minutes or so)where you don't really know how to move. Its dope

I remember very well the face of the shopman when I bought that. :D
I found the spanish (well, they are, right?) guys an interesting, though not overwhelming, discovery. I really like a few pieces on this CD (most or all of which pretty much are in a late 50s Cage/Feldman-more-or-less-indetermined-procedures vein, if I remember right).

I'll now finish listening to the November 2007-Björk show which I didn't feel like finishing a few days ago.

Why would you buy this one? Isn't it OOP? Oh I see: you want to make sure it's still unavailable to anyone and make big money by selling your own expensive copies on ebay! Smart! ;)

BTW, I really like this release. Plus Lê Quan Ninh is so under-recorded that any addition to his discography is more than welcome. Any possibility your press it again?

I'm getting quite a kick out of the 4th track on Alexei Borisov & saMMan's Berlin Home Session (Desetxea)

except I've never sold an Erst on eBay, not that I'd be against it. it's just worth more than $8, and I could move it onto someone who really wanted it. but I didn't do it anyway.

yeah, it's a good one, and nah, probably not. there are 1000 copies floating around if you want one, though, including a cheap one in Kichijoji. :)

Don't worry, I got a copy already.
I think I got it from Other Music of Kim's a few years ago for about the same price!

On the topic of reissuing stuff or not: give me only one good solid reason for not keeping in print a title that you value and that could still sell reasonably well?
I'm really frustrated with a bunch of releases that I find out about years later and that, when I try to find one, are way OOP for various reasons: label bankruptcy most of the time (Fringes, Meniscus, A Bruit Secret, etc, etc.)

What's that in yen, Jon? I'm curious to know how much prices have changed in the Japanese second-hand market since the days when I regularly shopped in Disk Union in Machida, Fuchinobe and Shinjuku.

I don't really value it that much in terms of the overall catalog, and I don't think it'd sell especially well if I made more, it costs money to reprint and takes space to store. essential titles (IMO) that I run out of I reprint, more than 90 percent of the catalog is in print.

I don't know if anything on Meniscus is actually OOP, just maybe not distributed and sitting in Jon Morgan's house. what were you looking for specifically?
