Why is this album so damn hot?
Does it top Marek Grechuta's Korowód?

Experimental music should be something that suggests a way of organizing your thinking, your attitude toward the world, which suggests that the world could be different.

toshimaru nakamura & english: one day

this is one of those albums where so much happens, and so unpredictably, that you can never really remember enough to be satisfied and will always have to listen to again. it's a beast, then. improv, baby.

I think it's more stretching out of boredom.

for anyone interested, from L to R, starting with the left table, that's Jerome Noetinger, Rafael Toral, Cor Fuhler and Gert-Jan Prins. the far table, with their backs to the camera, are Pita, Keith Rowe and Phil Durrant, and close up are Kaffe Matthews, Thomas Lehn's equipment (he took the photo, I believe), and Marcus Schmickler. it's in the Oscar Niemeyer-designed pavilion in the Serpentine Gallery in London in 2003, the concert that was mostly released on Lifting Concrete Lightly.

Niemien + Nadolski + members of SBB + Przybielski on one disc - so you got a mix of psychedelia, symphonic rock, blues, hard rock, free jazz, poetry, improv and more

well, I think Niemen was a better and more original singer than Grechuta, but I don't want to compare these two icons. Korowód is a great disc too (though for me the best Grechuta's release is Pieśni), but musically is much simplier and naive than Marionetki
