i still need a little help with this. as you may notice from a brief browse of the archive (you can all see the archive now, can't you?) we still haven't finished mapping usernames back to current users. it's a simple process, i need only the user_number and current user name to merge the two. but it can be time consuming to backtrack through the archive and figure everyone out, particularly people who've only made one or two posts.

so help me out here, people. use google while it's still on hand (updated search table coming soon. ish.) and down your old posts, if we haven't already matched you. thanks to grisha for figuring out a healthy chunk of the list, anything done already is his doing.

and many, many thanks to dolzenko, who basically saved everything.

cool, as soon as i'm done rebuilding the search index, i'll do another round of user updates.

if you're an old poster but haven't posted in the username change thread in IHE, please do so. i've got names on grisha's list i haven't been able to use yet.

another thing i'm gonna want is a bumping of topics that are alive again, so i can find them and merge them into the new topics. we have a merge tool now, so none of this thread-doubling will end up mattering.

fixed howsthatsound and kirby. the others don't seem to have registered here in the new forum, so i can't really do much. i might eventually change the user_crap to their old usernames, but i'd much rather wait until they register so i can let them claim authorship back.

so yes, lurkers of the world: register so you can have your old posts back. and so you don't have to see the ugly default board.

you'd have to find the matching post here in the archives. won't be nearly as difficult if/when the search table finishes rebuilding.
