I think, yes, basically it is indeed. Also, in some interview or something, I think it's maybe even just in extras for that dvd, they refer to their being drawn to creating a plot that was 'needlessly complex', pretty sure that was the exact phrase.Dan Warburton wrote:Isn't that what it's meant to be? Re:
I told you it was my favorite Coen Brothers movie the first time I watched it. Apparently that made quite an impression on you.jon abbey wrote:well, that's the first thing I've read that makes me want to see this one, thanks for that, Frau Schau.
Just watched it for a 2nd time tonight, on blu-ray, and feel the same way. Easily my favorite.
I'd like to see the numbers on games they should have won if they scored all those guys they do get on base in games they are hitting.

By the way, Bardem Shmardem, the Oscar goes to Barry Corbin.

It might be my favorite of the Bros' flicks. I didn't watch it in theaters but I picked it up when it came out and watched it 3 times in one sitting. The pacing is amazing and I thought everyone in the film was top-notch.
Someone said TLJ's accent wasn't Texan...Isn't he from Texas? I watched the "making of" on the DVD and I'm pretty sure they said he was from the area so he sort of the expert *on* the accent...No?
Jon, I actually think you will *really* like this film. Going on a limb (Not like a "C's in 5" sure-thing...just a limb)

In all seriousness, I'll give it a "Meh"+. It seemed like this movie wanted to be both a hardscabble "Natural Born Killers", and a serious character study of the sheriff. I think it failed ultimately at both. I personally wanted more time with the sheriff and his immediate circle, and more time with Llewellyn and his folk, and less following Anton around, which gave me a superficial visceral pleasure, but not much more. The movie would have been more effective had Anton actually been more ghost-like (as sherrif #2 says) and less slasher film killer.
Serious question #2: MRS, did your dad send his dad to prison, just wondering........
Re: No Country For Old Men
No, but I wish, I believe he was sentenced in Tejas.

Just wondering . . . . .

Darren, what in hell are you and Pan Schau talking about?

Experimental music should be something that suggests a way of organizing your thinking, your attitude toward the world, which suggests that the world could be different.
