Just wondered if anyone here plays Aunt Sally?

I played my first game the other night and was surprised how good at it I was after a bit of practise.

The Chipping Norton Invitation League is really hotting up! Go Oxfordshire Puddings!

Rochester had a fierce chuck at that dolly,--what 2.5, 2.6?--but it pranged round like a peach for him in the second leg. Three-blob game? Forget it. Usual ructions it wasn't a clean strike; but that's Rochester's gambit: sweet knock-up, sharp reverse-nozzle, and bob's your uncle. Featherington's unstoppable, even with that scaphoid fracture that might see him on the stools during the last eight--now that's a double-pass switch reversal! I haven't seen anything like that since the beer-leg in the '22 Berkshire skittle-outs.

Nah forget the Berks lot, its got to be Oxon for it to be top grade dolly bashing... and the beer-leg is the high point of any game from what I can tell.

My Aunt Sally is American, though...!

I had to remind myself that I was reading IHM for a second. Never occurred to me that there was a game, let alone other uses [from Wikipedia below]:

Worzel's gimmick was a set of interchangeable turnip heads, each head allowing him to perform a certain skill or to suit a particular occasion. Should Worzel be required to sing, for example, he would put on his singing head. He also had his own language--Zummerset dialect Worzelese. Worzel's catchphrases were: "A cup o' tea an' a slice o' cake" and "Arma darma deema darma arma darma Worzel." He was madly in love with Aunt Sally, a cruel-hearted fairground doll who considered herself a lady and far too good for a common scarecrow.
