i don't really think ashley is making that sort of music anymore. someone else could obtain the score for wolfman and arrange a performance, though...

i think the henri chopin request is spot-on. sound-poetry in general seems to be experiencing something of a renaissance with this crowd. how about jaap blonk or sten hanson?

haven't heard wolfman yet tho. not really noise, but i think daevid allen would be a pretty cool opener or closer. especially if he were to play ugly for monica in its entirety, sigh...

Thuja live is KILLER.. totally not that quiet.. I dunno if the hashies would "get it," but basically they're a naturalistic Neubauten.. last few times I've seen em, they've been really, really fucking good AND pretty damn loud....

I'm still pulling for Dead C tho... or maybe some other NZ fiends..... Birchville's always good.. and I bet he'd do something nuts.. when we collabed with him in Wellington, he cut the shit out of his face.. that'd go over well..................

yea....maybe campbell kneale/phil todd collab along with ashtray solo or birchville solo??? that would be incredible...campbell's coming to new york/boston in december which will be great, playing with ranaldo in ny also...psyched for that

cant remember right now hwich one has it but just open it in your computer from the finder(on mac) or my computer folder on pc, if its autostarting when you do that just right click and do 'explore', there is a folder in there with all the mp3s, jsut copy and paste into your home drive.

there is ipod videos of everything on the dvd too...

cool yeah i got it. it was on the bonus disc. haven't really checked out the mp3s yet, but sampled one, very fine recordings. i'm watching the dvd on my laptop with headphones, but it's definitely going to get the royal treatment on my stereo system tomorrow when my neighbors are at work. i'm on the 2nd disc right now, must say I loved Ranaldo/Miller/Parker, Prurient, and Dead Machines off the top of my head. the film is very well made too, lots of great cuts, it kind of looks and feels like a B movie. highly recommended A+++

jaap blonk is taking a year out from playing live, waS originally gonna be me and him at Instal, but then got changed to blood stereo and Ludo mich,, which went great.. treied to get Chopin to play 'Colour out of Space' in november, but poor health meant he couldnt commit.

From what I've read it sounds like she does site-specific work sometimes - I think Instal is in some arched stone or brick space and so maybe it works better than the Mills concert hall. Maybe she had more time to do it right at Instal, maybe as you said it's sound-system dependent. Maye she hates college kids.
