Aha. Thanks--I didn't understand that. My 12-year-old daughter will be extremely happy about that. She's among the rabid Lin fans (he's right up there with Ryan Higa), and, for some reason, she's also a NY fan (she has a Yankees hat and a Yankees shot glass, anyhow). Also, we get a lot more Knick games than Rocket games on TV here.

I went to a late-season Cavs/Knicks game and it was impossible to not notice the large number of East Asians in the crowd who'd bought tix, I assume, before Lin got injured. The only negative is the SHF benefits from something he had absolutely nothing to do with.

so the core of the team would be Williams/Johnson/Wallace and Brook Lopez, not sure if they could keep Humphries. that seems like a team that won't ever get out of the first round of the playoffs, doesn't it?

Williams said yesterday that he would have chosen Dallas if the Nets hadn't signed Johnson. You are right that given the hole the Nets were in they had to sign Johnson. Memo to owners: Don't ever hire DWill as your GM.

I don't know. If they can keep Humphries that doesn't seem like too bad a team to me--maybe a little weak on defense, but no worse than the Celtics on offense or rebounding. What's the bench?

NY resigns Novak, trades for Camby and is supposedly closing in on a deal with JR Smith. this gives them a pretty good nine man rotation once Shumpert is back from his injury:

Camby was my favorite Knick his first time around with the team.

I bet nobody would have thought 10 years ago that he would be signing a 3 year deal at age 38. His missed time due to injuries early in his career may be one of the reasons why he's pretty healthy today.

The Knicks need to sign JR, who will be the lowest paid of their top nine and then find some other guys, probably Jeffries and at least two guards who can hit three's.

One key to the Camby trade is that the Knicks kept him from Miami.

just butting in here to say that NYC basketball might maybe possibly be a ton of fun this year. if some bonkers Dwight Howard deal goes through I will definitely be walking to that new stadium in my neighborhood.

The Knicks should still be better than the Nets after Shumpert's return in January if Howard goes elsewhere.
