CHI: 6.30 The Whistler ::: Daniel Smith ::: & More

Post by Neon Blossom »

Come out to The Whistler this Thursday. Ill be jamming some percussive based electronica. Should be a fun night....for those who do not know or have never been, the folks at the Whistler specialize in Mixology. Come have a fancy drink and good vibes.

::: Live Performances by :::

::: Daniel Smith [Aguirre Records]
TINY MIX TAPES: “Red Electric Rainbow’s Dark Days reveals a mastery of his Nord Lead 2 put to dramatic and dynamic use. “Pleasure Machine” is like a cosmic lullaby, employing more high end, crystalline sounds than we’re used to with great effect.”
ALTERED ZONES: “Recorded using only a Nord Lead 2; the album (Dark Days) bubbles with textures that lend themselves easily to fans of Oneohtrix, Mist, Outer Space, and the current crop of cosmic travelers traversing the analog plain.”

::: Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble [Destijl Records]
Jack Curtis Dubowsky is an active composer, conductor, writer, educator, and filmmaker. He received a 2009 Subito Grant from American Composers Forum for the socio-politically-charged choral opera, Halloween in the Castro. Dubowsky has composed four chamber operas and scored five feature films, including Redwoods, Rock Haven, and That Man Peter Berlin. Dubowsky performs here with his signature Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble, combining acoustic instruments, electronic hardware, audiovisuals, composed material, and both free and structured improvisation. Ensemble regulars include Hall Goff on Trombone and Fred Morgan on percussion, who have played with the San Francisco Ballet, Opera, and Symphony orchestras, Duluth Symphony, New World Symphony, and Huntsville Symphony.
