My name is Klaus Holm, im an improvising musician living in Tromsø, Norway.
I just wanted to let fans of improvised and experimental music know that I recently opened a new website and online music store for this called http://www.subradar.no
Subradar sells downloads of improvised music, free-jazz, noise and contemporary music in high quality formats as flac, waw, lossless etc. (We do not sell any physical format.) But it also serves as a promotion website and contains related articles, news, blogs, videos and pictures.
Unfortunately many great mail order stores for physical format has been closing down over the latest years so we hope to make much of the same content available instantly all over the world as high quality downloads. We already work with Aurora, Clean Feed, Conrad Sound, Gaffer Records, Gameboy, Hubro, Obscurica, Parcrec, Pica Disc, Playdate Records, PNL Records, Quasi Pop, Shhpuma, Sofa, Simax og SubRon.
We started Subradar to make something that gave more revenue back to the artists. We also skipped all unnecessary intermediaries to be able to provide a better deal for labels, artists and customers. We also wanted to make a website that spotlighted improvised and experimental music only.
We hope to contribute to the production of new music and make artist able to finance new recordings through selling downloads. If an artist sells about 200 downloads at Subradar, he or she can fully finance a low cost production.
The music store has been developed in close collaboration with artists and record labels and is a non-profit organization.
