is there a noise scene in montreal?

is there any noise scene in montreal. i'm doing noise music for a short period of time and i was trying to find out where i could go to try to book some shows in montreal.
i've been directed to this site after posting some noise on another forum, in fact i didn't tought that there was a noise scene at all i was just doing some at my place. then found a noise thread at the muff wiggler forum, post one song there and somebody reffered me this forum. i kind of found my path

do you have any advice or places to look at?

there's noise in montreal. can't really speak about the scene, since i'm not in town, but stuff like http://kvlt667.com/ is there. and there seem to be pretty regular shows.

There is indeed noise scene in Montreal.

Mudd already mentioned http://kvlt667.com/ , which is the site of Brise-Cul Records. Dude who runs that label is certainly the most active and enthusiastic person in the noise scene (that I know of). He produces very regular shows and is very friendly guy too.

Also, Pasalymany Tapes does shows and makes tapes, check out their myspace or blog, or if you attend this show coming up in November you'll meet almost all the noise dudes in town: http://stillepost.ca/boards/index.php?topic=131257.0

Speaking of which, check the Montreal Stillepost board for show info in general, everyone posts their noise shows there.

Also there is http://www.angle-rec.net/ they do shows and release records, various genres including noise, power electronics, drone, industrial, dark ambient, that kind of thing.

Alien8 Recordings doesn't focus on noise and experimental as much, lots more pop and dance music, but they still do the occasional show of that sort with some of their mainstay artists like Knurl or Francisco Lopez, or Nadja for example.

Casa Del Popolo is a good venue, worth checking their listings but it's usually always booked for months in advance.

i know next to nothing about the montreal scene but the one thing i like about the troniks board is the regional sub-forums

i dont know how helpful that one is as canada is pretty big... but the forums for the US are broken down into smaller regions which is useful
