two is monty clift and lee remick, they were in a film titled wild river. the connection is jo van fleet, who was merely 46 in this ...
three's a blank for now but i think i've seen that
four of course is the conversation before the sax scene
and five is indiana jones with that scoundrel shia labeouf (sp?), which makes it indy 4, kingdom of the crystal skull. the connection is harrison ford. next up will be danish porn.

now for three ... it does potentially look like a scorsese film, but that leads nowhere. scanning the cast of wild river, though, there's barbara loden: that's it, it's wanda! (i was somewhat underwhelmed by that ... there's a long tradition going back to 19th century novels of authors portraying people simpler than them with (sometimes) the best intentions but questionable prespective ... ) the link to the conversation is michael higgins.

hey i had actually identified wanda in that talky last paragraph ... and sorry, it did not do anything for me.

so, shia laboeuf (sp?), whom i do not at all enjoy watching. scanning his filmography
6 the title american honey fits the still best. bullseye, and it's an andrea arnold film, so she must be the link, since i think 7 appeared in another thread too. so
7 is arnold's red road. the actress in
8 looks sameish and scanning kate dickie's filmography i see prometheus by ridley scott (i had wanted to say i'd watch none of these movies except at gunpoint but i had to watch prometheus while researching for a giger book (practically at gun point. hey i don't even like alien except the first 30 minutes)). so this is it, but it's not really the same actress in the still, just luck.

ponder, ponder ... i think 10 is a former arthouse smash that again is only at one remove from danish porn. so i google stellan skarsgaard girl tattoo and get a lot of conflicting information but wait this would make sense:
9 is the original swedish girl with the dragon tattoo, which shares noomi rapace with prometheus and
10 is the david fincher remake!

i'm surprised, this looked like a rather tough bunch of films i wouldn't like.

oh, monsieur hire has music by michael nyman, stupid, i should have seen that. greenaway was really huge for a moment back in the day, especially a zed and two noughts, but doubts started soon and by prospero's books i really hated him ... so

11 must be drowning by numbers (though i seem to see an "s" rather than a number) and the link to the 2nd girl with the chinese tattoo is joely richardson.

and monsieur hire is after a book by george simenon and googling george simenon and american noir films i get

14 the brothers rico, and the link to 15 is richard conte, who is the mel brooks doppelganger. that still still looks fishy to me. must be the back screen.

so both of these would actually have been deductable ...

i do enjoy these ... it's a bit weirdish to have them posted more or less specifically for me, but then we've all had gigs with even smaller audiences. as long as the mrs keeps bailing me out whenever we move totally outside my areas of passing interest, keep 'em coming
