Mitsuhiro Yoshimura, Masahiko Okura - Trio (Presquile)

I'm enjoying this one quite a bit.

On one listen the Yoshimura / Sugimoto / Tsunoda disc did very little for me though. Perhaps closer listening required but I struggled to get past Yoshimura's overpowering squeal on that one. Although its also continuous on Trio its a little less claustrophobic and Okura plays very well here.

Just first impressions though.

Yeah, same here.
Beyond "Thanks no Cash" I really like:
- Barcelona Series (Hatology)
- Crux (Cor's label)
- Object 1 (Locust)

The first two are 5-star discs IMO. Any other suggestions would be welcome.
(Maybe Dörner is influential enough to have a thread of his own here(?))

I liked "1" quite a lot (though I haven't heard anything else from the series?).
Unlike other work from Dörner/Holm (see Claque), this one sounded very unhurried with ideas evolving throughout. Almost Feldman-like. Definitely a keeper.

That's actually the order in which I heard Doerner, all good. A View From The Window is maybe the strongest "grower" for me from Erstwhile currently, every listen has reinforced my regard for him and this trio.
What am I missing that is essential since A View...?
