What did you think of this? I got bored pretty quickly and turned it off the first time I tried to listen.

But I was also feeling sick that day.

So, is it worth a second shot? Or is the whole thing really just the series of small dry tones spaced out over too much time that it sounded like it was going to be?
The grammatical rules associated with diagrammatic reduction become apparent by considering a more tractable diagrammatic representation, applied to the Windsor knot in Fig. 8. - Fink & Mao, Tie knots, random walks and topology, (Physica A 276)

I need to give this one another spin or two myself, but I also wasn't that taken by it. The over reliance on repeated notes got old pretty fast I thought. In that manner it kind of reminded me of Sugimotos "exploration" of major scales - it may seem dramatic to people who are immersed soley in abstract music but otherwise it's just tedious.

Blessed by the graceful touch of Olaf Oxley!

But seriously. Is it by Richard?

No. I think the joke is that Richard passionately hates that cover art.

You know Olaf is getting really fed up with being confused with me...

That disc art doesn't look as bad in real life as it does on a backlit screen, but its still not a good one.

Ha, you do now! Do you know the Asmus Tietchens remix (hate that f**king word) album of all nine Folktales?

OOP too but he did such a great job - best reworking / recontextualising disc I know. Someone should post these things on a blog somewhere, because I don't think Jon [Mueller]'s likely to reissue any of them.
No, I dont know Tietchens Folktales remixes, but I've liked pretty much everything I've heard him do, so I'll try to track that down.

This Heat live sometime in early 1980

- disturbed by a regularly beeping car horn in front of our house - the poor guy apparently has no idea how to stop it, and it's still early morning here, and what has been kinda funny for the first few minutes starts to get really annoying now.

The guy next-door makes me listen to AC/DC - I assume the new CD. If it really is the new CD, I'd say - well, for assumed-by-me AC/DC-standards - it turned out okay.

I'll play something else myself soon anyway (most probably Roof - time to listen to the wonderful "Diving Bell" again!)

I listened to these while waiting for my test results at the hospital this afternoon....it made the wait all the more bareable, though I wish they wouldn't have to hook me up to all those machines [all I though about is that sequence from The Meaning of Life - with the machines that go beep!]
