Thanks for the kind words Jon -- and thanks for the Haunted House photo, as well. Yes, this will be out June 6th. I'll surely post here closer to that date with the ordering info and more details. Overall it is 3xCDs, ovedr 3 hrs of music from 1976-2004 -- 12 7" singles and 20+ unreleased pieces, plus compilation tracks and more -- with notes on each release and liners by blues scholar William Ferris and others.

Going to start work on a DVD comp of Loren's live performances soon -- so if anyone out there has any footage or knows of some, drop me a line via pm.

Eric, I know we've talked about it a bit, but do you know whether recordings from Loren's 50th birthday month at Tonic exist? the guy played probably 30 or 40 sets, and I don't think there have been any recordings released. did no one make them, did they just not record well, are they still sitting in Loren's drawer?

there were some great sets that month, the ones I remember most are a duo with Chan Marshall (a free improv set with her on guitar and singing bits of songs) and a few Haunted House sets, which were the best they ever got. I've written it here before, but Dean Roberts turned to me after one of them ended and said "that's the best rock band in the world right now", and he had a good case, so powerful.

Jon, I don't really know, I'll have to ask Loren if there are solid plans because Ecstatic Peace / Father Yod have listed this as forthcoming: [E#101c / Fypc24-27] Mazzacane Connors, Loren 50 Years Old Bday Concerts 1999 @ Tonic Nyc 4CD Box

Why convert something compressed losslessly to a format that destroys part of the data?

(and to tG - there's always YouSendIt)

Just noting that Connors is playing at the Stone in May...as are many other great performers. Looks to be an incredible month there...Derek Bailey tribute month.

Yeah... amazing schedule up. I'm probably gonna wind up there between 3 and 5 nights each week.

Right now I am working on a three CD set of his 7" singles compilation tracks and odds and ends. Jim O'Rourke mastered the audio from original tapes, with Loren, and it is amazing, quality is superb. Some unreleased amplified blues acousitc pieces from early 80s (intended for dbl 7") and other delights are on there. No release date set.

well, this is now done and set for an early June release. I have an advance of it which just arrived thanks to the kind Mr. Weddle, and it's amazing so far, much more straightforward blues than I've ever heard from Loren. the first track is his take on Come On In My Kitchen, very cool. beautiful package too!

Followed by Tetuzi Akiyama solo as well according to Tonic's schedule

Yeah, Loren already took the copies I sent him to some shops around NYC. The official release date is June 6th, when it should be available for everyone else outside of NYC at your favorite store/on-line shop.
