Out of curiosity, what is Graham's live setup? I would assume that someone who deals mainly with tape collage would be triggering samples from a laptop, but judging from Yuko's pictures that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm always curious how composers who don't focus on improvisation approach live performance...

we'll all know a lot better tomorrow night what it currently is, I'll post some more pics after that.

and as long as this thread's up, Lambkin/Lescalleet CD release show tomorrow at IPR, their first show in 2+ years, very exciting:

yeah, although I'm not sure there's any overlap from the last set of shows they did in 2008, and we'll see if they're the same at the shows next month in Philly/Wesleyan.

but that was in fact what he used last night, along with jumping in on Jason's setup a fair amount.

Hopefully, I'll have the money to go to Philly by Friday.

pretty good, I expect the ones next weekend will go more smoothly since now they've got one show with this new material under their belts.

slowly but surely turning into a big lambkin fan. really enjoyed his show at issue project room with moniek darge, an odd & affecting performance. been on a big lambkin/shadow ring kick ever since. really looking forward to 'amateur doubles," the excerpt on youtube sounds great.

"As with Lambkin's two albums with the English musician Jason Lescalleet ..."

I wouldn't let a little thing like the Atlantic Ocean get between us :) According to AMG, I've been American for years (that's what happens when a Quebecois writes your biography). Apart from that little glitch, not a bad article, I thought.

no, aside from that, it's actually a rather good article. especially for introducing someone to Graham's work. just struck me as an odd mistake that I might as well poke fun at.

Robert G wrote:Friend of mine who ordered the book ripped the CD for me. It's choral music that's very similar to the samples present on Salmon Run, and edited/looped in a similar fashion too. In a weird way, it makes me think of Brian Eno's Music For Airports (and I mean this in a good way).
reviving to ask: anyone have any idea what the choral sample from "dumb answer to miracles" is? found an mp3 on soulseek a while ago and keep returning to it; would love to know what the music was.
