Lovely music; the room is vibrated, sounded. My windows resonate with the low tones. Sometimes there are bass clarinets and low trombones in the mix. It's very interesting how the duo plays like one entity: the basses+bows+room responses and echoes; audible listening.

The fact that Coil was able to release an album like this so late into their career is mindblowing.

It's a great album. Though even more amazing than how late in their career it was, is the fact that it was assembled from half-finished recordings after John Balance's death; it feels like a very complete statement in spite of that. Coil was one of those rare acts that remained perpetually fresh and exciting throughout their nearly 20+ year career.
