It's definitely a Rowe piece of art, if I'm not totally inbeded in my morning fog.

...and it's gorgeous by the way, it made me think of Fernand Léger meeting Piet Mondian somewhere in a Rothkoian world

correct, David, that's the cover of the upcoming 'between' double CD, it just arrived here earlier today. that's a photo of it, when I get a scan, I may swap that in. we're aiming for a mid-April release, very excited about that.

Mondrian is definitely correct, Rothko probably also. one reference it brought to mind for me immediately (which I just confirmed with Keith) is the dual lifelines on the inside of Weather Sky, on the back of the booklet facing the CD, one long and squiggly, and one intense, jagged and short.

it seems anyway the policy of that festival was always to get a program last minute and full of clues no ? something like the Da Vinci thing ...

I think that's just the vienna versions, the NYC ones have been announced late, but they put the whole thing on the ACF web site. it's usually so badly publicized that the bulk of the audience ends up being the other musicians they've brought over.

the one band I know that's coming is mimi secue, who my wife really loves, so that's pretty cool.

Well good at least it ll makes you both happy ( and confirms the confidential sides of the promotion maybe as well , ...dunno it s always been a little obscure in terms of "curating" to me ... but who cares )

if that happens ( sounds like French passports are not valid anymore in the US ... or something ... maybe we frogs are always nasty as well ? ) that ll be because of Max Nagl and the rest is complete darkness to me ...

I anyway feel a bit like a "mistake" in these sorts of festivals
and last time with Stock, Hausen & Walkman i got stuck in Brussels and missed the gig ... ( 98, 99 ?)

anyway ...come by and let s have a drink then ... ( sounds like a Derek Bailey gig in a Pub on the 3rd or 4th floor on a rainy sunday in the mid 70 s )

The funny thing is that whenever i ended up playing in rather defined festivals like this seems to be it s alaways been by some sort of hasard or error and i enjoy it like that better

dunno what s up these days but i ll be mistaken a few times

it s great ... always come too late, too early or wrong timing

it s perfect for me

here's what I wrote in the latest ErstDist update (e-mail me at ErstRecs@aol.com if you'd like to be added to this list, I send updates about once a month):

the festival will take place between Sept. 28-Oct. 1 in NYC, likely 22 sets total (four nights of five sets each and a two set matinee). the bulk of the performers are confirmed, but we're still solidifying things, so I don't want to announce too much.

but as a taste to get people motivated to make the trip, confirmed performers include Cosmos' US debut (Sachiko M/Ami Yoshida), Aaron Dilloway (one set solo, one set duo with Lasse Marhaug), and Jeph Jerman (one set with Greg Davis and one with Tim Barnes and possibly Sean Meehan). hope to see you there, it's going to be the best one yet!
