What is the update on the Morton Feldman/Christian Wolff guitar album on mode records? I remember reading an article about the CD coming out, but haven't heard anything in awhile, and haven't been able to locate any information on it. Something about someone finding a live radio broadcast of a performance of Feldman's guitar piece, and then the album has a transcription of this, with other similarly composed pieces.

Gripper's dilemma..... LOVE Sun Pandamonium, but have a perfectly functional CD, and PAN shit ain't cheap...

because it's good job in all the levels.
I prefer to have an expensive well done disc / object than a cheap shitty object.

Apparently the people who buy vinyl wants to listen to them also on their Ipod. I don't have one so I don't care. And a vinyl if it's done precisely has very low or no surface noise. Exemple the double Kevin Drumm LP on thin wrist... No surface noise at all and the Pan discs are good quality too.

yeah, I don't own an ipod either. I haven't even listened to any music on headphones in years.

and yes, PAN records are made very nicely. I own several. But I've never heard an LP (or a tape for that matter) sound as clean as a CD.

I vaguely understand the desire to keep music in an analog medium when it consists of analog/acoustic sound (and is recorded at a higher fidelity than CD audio). But this just seems silly.

several of the tracks from the album were released on vinyl originally, presumably something that hecker himself desired. personally i just like surface noise and larger-format.

"Portrait d'un glacier" and "L'oeil retourné", I am familiar with.

Yes, they're all reissues, two from the Cinéma pour l'Oreille series on Metamkine, and Dans la Montagne that was originally a three incher on Mike Bullock's Chloë imprint. All excellent, but L'Oeil Retourné makes more sense along with Ralf Wehowsky's Vier Vorspiele that was paired with it on the original Selektion release.

i agree with this but for me "Une Saison" still works well as a whole. it's interesting to listen to La Grande Vallée, Portrait d'un glacier and Dans la montagne back to back. i think i even hear the same (or very similar) sounds in those three. and they are all "about mountains", more or less.
