ANDREW WK
i know i've seen his face at past no fun festivals...and he's been making noise for over 10 years, but has released very little of it. about time for him to show 'n prove.

BLUE HUMANS reunion
rudolph grey and whoever. maybe some new blood like olson and brian sullivan instead of sauter, licht, harris, etc.

oh shit joseph hammer's on the board now.

he IS an "old" LAFMS dude. Well, not one of the really old ones, but man.

Those of you who haven't yet heard his "Dynasty Suites" or Solid Eye recordings really ought to.
You, of all people, should understand

CHOP SHOP

Yes, another great, great call! A first rate NYC sound/noise artist who never plays in the city but would certainly blow minds at NFF.

i would fly out to nyc if a lot of the japanese people mentioned in this thread were in the lineup- they are the least likely to ever tour into texas- Guilty Connector, Hijokaidan, Government Alpha- i'm there...

would also like to suggest some texas noise people (not just cause they're my friends)

Richard Ramirez or Black Leather Jesus
T.E.F.
Goat
A Fail Association

hello and welcome to my 2nd post

this thread makes me happy,
if I may be so bold to make 2 observations

1)dead silence between the acts - no DJ, no soundman playing his favorite CD, no nothing

2)house lights - bring up all the lights between acts - let the artist decide what they want for themselves, otherwise turn them on

if your willing to take a chance on all new artists then you should consider an all new atmosphere - please abandon the dingy rock club atmosphere and open up - I think lights and no music between acts will have a genuine positive effect on the fest as a whole - I have no scientific proof for any of this, I've just played a shit load of noise shows and I've seen the difference in action - for a 3 day noise fest like this, its a good idea to eliminate the headache factor

BEST - Ron

maybe not on record, but live they're definitely very noisy and so much fun to watch, jfr is fucking crazy. they would've been better than nnck for a closer this year. seconding this

also midmight, who i saw play at godwaffle here and was fucking incredible

just play forgettable, cheesy lite jazz between sets. at a very, very low volume. and yes turn on the house lights.

i'm sure this will be held somewhere else next year. it's too big.

welcome to my first response to something RRRon said on this message board.

I agree with his suggestion... I noticed that after NFF2, where I stayed for most of the weekend, I was EXHAUSTED for days afterwards. For NFF3, I stayed for only one night and was just as exhausted.... not a bad thing, of course, but still... an atmosphere that offers relief makes each set more interesting, rather than a constant wash of loud sound which, with exhaustion, becomes somewhat undifferentiated.

I also agree that Joseph Hammer is old. He's older than dirt. Dirt looks pretty good next to Joseph Hammer. That guy... when I think of Hammer, I think: "Holy crap, that is one OLD dude!"

Wait, did you say he reads this board now....?

I say keep the DJs, but have them play funk or rap, something interesting but far away from what's going on onstage. I think at least a bit of the reason that people still talk about the Pita/Lasse set from two years ago is that Maggot Brain was on right before that, great warmup music.
