I assume you mean the NYC shows in September, not the previously discussed Prague night?

the night in Prague is definite, details on my site under the Live heading.

the weekend in NYC is also definite as to the dates and it's happening, all of the musicians are committed, it's just a question of finding the proper venue, which Tim and I will focus on once we're both back from Europe in early July. Tim's sure that this won't be an issue, I'm not worried about it either.

hope you can make it, it's going to be fun...

Great line up indeed for ErstQuake2. Shame it is in the rotten apple which is still on the must on my travelling list but unfortunatelly this year is out of the question. I am specially glad to see Tomas, aku and Margarida there (maybe only one basque bastard is missing!). Jon have you ever thought of releasing something on Erstwhile by let's say Mattin or Taku Unami?

of course I've thought of it (I actually briefly considered that duo together before they put out a disc themselves), but they've both been putting out plenty of material already without my help. I'm not entirely convinced by either's music, to be honest, the 5 times I've seen Mattin live have been overall disappointing (I think he makes better records than concerts, but maybe I've just seen the wrong concerts), and Unami makes plenty of nice records, but not ones I'd consider special. both of them probably release too many records, although it also seems as if they are both slowing down somewhat.

one of the main ideas behind this particular festival lineup is to give me a chance to see a bunch of (mostly younger) musicians I'm interested in perform in a couple of different contexts very closely together, which I often find very illuminating and revealing as to their potential range of approaches. so I'm personally looking forward to it because of that.

i 've made a reservation with the big apple hostel. hotels in new york are just ridiculous.
really looking forward to this, too bad my girl isn't flying over there with me, not much of a EAI fan, i guess.
