Most people dont know or forgot George Best played for the San Jose Earthquakes back in the day. By the way, under new coach (and Bielsa disciple) Matias Almeyda, the Quakes are up to 3rd in the Western Conference, after finishing at the bottom of the table last year (there is no relegation in MLS). We went to a match a few weeks ago for Croatian Heritage Night and my son and I got to go on the pitch for the pre-match flag ceremony.

Well it was just leverage against Betis for Lo Celso after all, I got a little ahead of myself I guess. Although in my defense, several outlets like NBC, Sky Sports, and a few others announced it as a done deal.

happy as we were, the game didn't kindle much hope (for spurs or against city) ... though liverpool should have more blips this year so maybe 2nd place is up for grabs? bundesliga could be more interesting as bayern won't strike the fear into anybody with that coach and goalie ... and yet if dortmund didn't take it last season, why would they now, favre teams tending to lose steam at some point (also i don't care for dortmund) ... rats look well-poised, but werner might still leave ... and hey, the table after the first game: 2. rats, 3. freiburg, 4. düsseldorf ... just leave it like that

Yeah it was one way traffic (30 shots to 3) but we defended fairly well, and they were profligate. That being said, I dont see how this is our first choice team going forward. Winks, as I have said in the past, doesnt seem up for this level of play. Sissoko has a limited skill set, and perhaps we would have been better selling high with him. You can never fault Lamela's work rate and ability to track back and win balls, but he's slow on the ball and turns it over SO MUCH. Maybe when certain players (Vertonghen, Alli, Son) get back up to speed, and Lo Celso is bedded in things will be better.

City are a machine, its not just KDB. Bernardo Silva might be my favorite player to watch in all of Europe, along with Isco, Sterling, Messi he has the quickest feet.

Good draw for Rats. Spurs have two tough tough away matches in Greece and Belgrade. Obviously we are not playing well and havent been for probably 6 months now. 4 EPL wins in our last 17 I think? Winks / Sissoko / Lamela cannot play in the midfield together anymore. F is tough, too bad for Inter. Valencia get through with ease in H I think
